Thank the Pilgrims

Our country will celebrate a holiday, which allows us to have a hearty meal.  One of many joyous occasions to be spent with family and friends.

For this post, I thought what I could be thankful for.  I decided upon the pilgrims because without them I believe this holiday may have never happened.

But we must remember those people who might not be able to afford a Thanksgiving dinner.  This poem is a reminder for those of us who can eat.

I wrote this poem in the cascade form. See if you can see the repetition of lines taken from the first stanza.  It doesn’t rhyme, but it has a rhythm that welcomes the serenity for the first holiday of the season.  Just look for the poem under the “Poems/Christmas & Winter” tab.
