Thank the pilgrims for this holiday
How they established a great feast
They set the standards for America
To be shared with those we love
That was the prayer I learned
Every Thanksgiving as a child
To not take any meal for granted
Thank the pilgrims for this holiday
In school when I learned history
That the pilgrims had a vision
To blend two cultures at a table
How they established a great feast
When I got older the world changed
But the pilgrims’ will still echo
And managed to come full circle
They set the standards for America
As we come together today to eat
We are reminded of what is a home
That the pilgrims gave us a gift
To be shared with those we love
