Granted the stars were out of reach
From the waters of this coastal beach
Yet the words on this seaside postcard
Were memories that the Lord preached
My kids shared times with high regard
That they witnessed the next avant-garde
Which was the ocean setting them free
A message that I would never discard
As I drank my last cup of coffee
I realized that my children missed me
Even if they had an amusement day
Or they were surfboarding on the sea
I was glad my children took time to say
That not to worry while they’re away
And that I gave them a lesson to teach
That they are never too old to play
