Listen to Santa’s knocking
He promised a gift for you
To see through present mocking
Inside this jolly keepsake
Lies a cross not to forsake
Because on this holiday
Angels pray for no heartache
Other goodies that you find
Never to be left behind
Whether candy or a book
Seek to look merry and kind
Behold the Christmas stocking
The message it’ s unlocking
The son of God has been born
He is adorned, not shocking
