Zinnia prayed for the bunny’s return
At the playground on a seesaw
Because she loved animals
Zinnia wouldn’t fall on the ice
The bunny took over winter’s thaw
Zinnia prayed for the bunny’s return
One day she blinked her eyes twice
The bunny was there in golden straw
Because she loved animals
Beside the bunny were some mice
And carrots that they found to gnaw
Zinnia prayed for the bunny’s return
Zinnia was thankful for the sacrifice
An angel with a picture to draw
Because she loved animals
Unlike any other of God’s paradise
Easter’s symbol so pure and yet raw
