A journal placed in an open field
Where a good-hearted woman goes to kneel
She gazes at the stars so bright
Asking the Lord for some compassion in her life
She says she wishes her dreams could come true
Not just for her, but her family too
Then she sighs and gets off her knees
Just as the flowers around her begin to breathe
She sits on a bench that has been there for years
And watches the setting moon disappear
She opens her journal and begins to write again
Knowing it was God’s gift to her, her one and only friend
