Tonight I had a pleasant surprise
The full moon made me open my eyes
It was God’s creation in disguise
Nested above my neighbor’s backyard
Acting like the earth’s devoted guard
Made me forget the times that were hard
Slowly our great moon began to move
Just as I spotted all its’ dark grooves
Knowing my will could always improve
Yesterday astronauts settled upon
This celestial sphere studied as fond
Inspired present day poems and songs
There is a goal to reach our loved moon
Constructing habitats in lifeless dunes
Hopefully realized someday soon
For now, we just hold onto its’ view
Watch the flight of the Artemis crew
