Don’t fear the editor!
They only want to make
your writing better!
So they take a saw
and cut your work in pieces.
Then they take a hammer
and continuously beat it.
Before they sand it down
until the words say the truth
And bolt the grammar
that is hanging loose.
Then they paint it boldly
so the title stands out
And let it dry
until the sun goes down.
After reading the paper
the writer asked,
“Why was my work destroyed?”
The editor then answered,”
“I needed to make some noise.”
So then the writer
nodded his head and figured
That the editor only wanted to
make the article bigger.
But the writer didn’t see
the toolbox behind the desk.
That the editor was preparing for
another demolition tests.
