By the ocean kids flew a kite
A star-spangled banner of light
Glided along the wind
With no power to take a fall
Just like a hot summertime ball
That love of kites within
Thunderclouds lied too faraway
So the kite continued to sway
As the children held on
To this seaside pastime of joy
In the eyes of all girls and boys
An everlasting bond
The invincible kite without a tear
Found on public beaches everywhere
