In busy Lower Manhattan
On a clear and sunny day
People went about their lives
With typical city time delays
Until two torpedoes appeared
And their country was betrayed
Where the Lights Shine Forever
There was no time to question
Survival was their only goal
Some tried to escape the towers
Until the fumes and fire took toll
Those who managed to escape
Thought of the rescuers so bold
Many people didn’t make it out
But today their stories are told
Where the Lights Shine Forever
Though a memorial was built
It still didn’t heal the pain
Of what our enemies did
An act that was done in vain
So when I look at the heavens
I know God still can’t explain
Where the Lights Shine Forever
