My Christmas Task

Many of the Christmas poems I wrote and posted on this blog were fictional, but not this new one called “My Christmas Task.”  I originally drafted this poem in another style, but the Minute format seemed to work best for the story I wanted to tell about “My Christmas Task” as a child and unbelievably it still is my favorite chore. Two other poems I have written and recorded in this format are “Another Day” and “Asteroid.” “My Christmas Task,” along with my audio can be found under the “Poem/Christmas & Winter” tab.

Recorded Poems of Reflection

For the last three years after I posted a dark Halloween poem, I honored November 1st as All Saints Day. Now mind you, not all these poems were all religious, yet it gave me time to “reflect” on the life God gave me. These poems are called “Take on God’s Dream,” “Another Day,” “Clear,” and “On the Bright Side.” My poems of “reflection” along with recordings can be found under the “Poems/Reflection” tab.

Take On God’s Dream

This poem called “Take on God’s Dream” is about living life to the fullest and passing that blessing around the world. “Take On God’s Dream” is the fifth new poem I have posted on this blog and it is written in the Viator format. Another poem I have written and recorded in this format is called “The World Now Knows,” and is found under the “Poems/Astronomy” tab. However on a lighter subject about existence, “Take On God’s Dream” along with audio can be found under the “Poems/Reflection” tab.

Recorded Poems of Halloween

All my Halloween poems I posted on this blog tell brief stories of the fear associated with this fall night, in exception of one.  I have chosen four of my Halloween poems to record called “Casper,” “Frankenstein Creation,” “Halloween Curse,” and “The Spooky Knock.”  All four of these poems with audio can be found under the “Poems/Halloween & Fall” tab.

Casper

This Halloween poem I wrote called “Casper,” inspired by the infamous animated character, is the fourth new poem I have posted on my blog. Unlike much of my other Halloween poems, “Casper” is not at all scary.  This poem was written in a Welsh format called Tawddgyrch Cadwynog. I have also recorded it. Just look for “Casper” under the “Poems/Halloween & Fall” tab.

More Recorded Poems of Patriotism

September is another month, besides July that I believe symbolizes American patriotism. Three of my poems “Labor Day,” “Life’s Destined Moments” and “Where the Lights Shine Forever,” shed light on moments of triumph and yet disaster in the U.S. All three of these poems with recordings can be found under the “Poems/Patriotic” tab.

Labor Day

While summer winds down, there is one September holiday that brings the season to a close. This poem “Labor Day” is only the third new poem I posted so far this year. Although Labor Day is an American holiday, I wrote it in an Irish format called “Cro cumaisc etir casbairdni ocus lethrannaigecht.”  Whether I got the rules right I don’t know, but I did my best. This poem along with my audio, can be found under the “Poems/Patriotic” tab.

Recorded Poems of Astronomy

A couple of weeks ago humanity witnessed the first spectacular images from the James Webb Space Telescope, an achievement for planet Earth. Then next month on August 21, 2022, will be the five year anniversary of the 2017 total solar eclipse. So you can say I have two reasons, to record my poems with an astronomical theme. These five poems about the universe are called “Asteroid”, “A Great Celestial Awakening,” “Mars,” “Moon,” and “The World Now Knows.” Just look for the poems with recordings under the “Poems/Astronomy” tab.

Asteroid

My heart can never get away from science fiction or unfortunate reality, which is what this poem,” Asteroid” describes. This poem was written in the Minute format. Another poem I have written in the Minute format is called “Another Day,” which is found under the “Poems/Inspirational” tab. On the other hand “Asteroid” is found under the “Poems/Astronomy” tab and I have recorded it as well.

Recorded Poems of Summertime

There are still a couple of months left of summertime, which means we can still plan trips to the beach or stay inside to avoid the heat. I have recorded three of my favorite poems written about summer called “Fresh Air,” “Sail Across the Earth’s Oceans,” and “The Seaside Postcard.” All three poems with recordings can be found under the “Poems/Summertime” tab.
