How the World Behaves

If ever there was one wish I’d want, it would be the same one as Dorothy hoped for in the Wizard of Oz.  She wanted to go home, back to the world that she knew, with her family and of course Toto. But anybody who found themselves following the yellow brick road on the other side of the rainbow and saw our world today, they would want to stay in Oz.

Could you imagine if our world were like that fantasy setting? But it’s not, and unfortunately, we must live with it.  I’m not saying the world should be perfect, but it could be a better place.  Just think of the children today, what will happen in twenty years from now?

The news inspires me to write, sometimes it’s good or sometimes its bad.  There was a poetry prompt in the Poet’s Market 2016 called “How the (Blank) Behaves.”  So I filled in the “blank” with “world”.  Then I used an acrostic format for the structure of the poem.  The first word in each line spells out the title to the poem.  Just look for the poem under the “Poems/Patriotic” tab.
